Bianca, Jakkie Louw, Joe F and Pieter Smith live at The Performer

Thank you to everyone who attended the function at The Performer theatre on 30 November. I am sure you will all agree with me that it was awesome! It was a night to remember.

Bianca, Jakkie, Joe and Pieter, thank you for the great entertainment, it was WOW! In addition you all appeared at no cost to Care 4 Kidz. Thank you very much for your generosity, we appreciate it. It is artists like yourselves who make the world a better place.

I would like to extend a special word of thanks to Bianca, her promoter Alishia, and Barry from GetIt for initiating the event. Bianca performed at 16 schools in Pretoria to create awareness about child abuse in her own time and at no cost. Care 4 Kidz will follow up her promotion in 2010 with training at these schools.

Child protection week

Caring communities protect children. That is the message we need to bring across during national child protection week, in fact every day must be child protection day.

Child protection week

In our country a child is assaulted every 15 minutes and raped every half hour. In most instances the victim is not protected and the perpetrator manages to escape successfull prosecution. It seems that in society these incidents are being condoned, or not much is done to limit incidents. Almost on a daily basis articles appear in the press. Pray together with us during child protection week to help our nation's children be safe and protected.

Get your green ribbon and wear it with pride.

Pledge your support, dare to care

We need your help. Achieving our objectives is impossible without your support. We added a downloadable form for a monthly debit order which you can find here. Dare to make a difference and care for our children. Every donation however small goes a long way to make a difference in a child's life. Everyone is not as fortunate as we are and we need to be the light in their lives.

Speak up! Stop the slaughter of innocence

1 in 4 girls and 1 in 7 boys are sexually abused. That is the harsh reality worldwide. Speak up, break the silence and stop the slaughter of innocence.

Speak up! Break the silence!

To illustrate public knowledge a survey amongst adults in Australia over 18 showed that:

  • Child abuse is perceived less concerning than the rising cost of petrol, problems with public transport and roads;
  • 31% of respondents say that they would not believe children's stories about being abused. This implies that the child has to tell the story to at least 3 adults to be noticed;
  • 16% were unclear whether sex between an adult and a 14 year old constitutes sexual abuse;
  • 1 in 5 respondents lacked confidence/knowledge on what to do if they suspected child sexual abuse;

You can help us to assist victims and prevent these crimes.

Our launch on Sunday, 23 November 2008

We had our launch on Sunday. You can view photographs here.

What is our intentions?

Please visit the projects section through the menu on the left to look at our different programs. Our first priority is 227 Malherbe Street which will care for sexually molested children.

We will focus strongly on prevention of these crimes. The other two projects are being developed to educate our children, and the adults, to recognize the indications and prevent the escalation thereof. Even if we only save one child we have achieved our mission.
